Animal's Name and Type
Belle, a Bichon Frise
What is the animal's story?
Belle was being bred for 7 years, pretty much nonstop. When she stopped being of use to the breeder. they turned her over to a Bichon rescue group, which is how we connected with her. She lived with a lovely foster family, who saw her through a checkup with the veterinarian, a breast cancer diagnosis, and surgery. After recovery, she joined our family.
Advice
- Rescue groups are a great way to connect. In our case, we were able to meet Belle, at our home, and see how she might interact, and also see she would deal with our cat.
- The rescue group also matched us with a dog that would fit our personality. And so far, she's been a perfect match.
What is this animal's life like now?
Belle is a happy dog, who doesn't seem to believe that she has a family now, and isn't caged, and expected to be producing puppies nonstop. She cuddles, loves her walks, and is delighted to be part of a forever family.
