Can I speak out for animals if I’m not vegan?

By Doris Lin, About.com

Question: Can I speak out for animals if I’m not vegan?
Answer: If the issue that is burning in your mind today is the clubbing of baby seals, you do not have to be vegan to know that clubbing a baby seal to make a fur coat is wrong. You may become vegan later on, but don’t be shy about speaking your mind in the meantime. There are many who would like to classify all animal activists as either hypocrites or extremists. If someone tries to accuse you of being a hypocrite, you can remind them that even though most people are not vegan, most people do recognize that certain types of animal cruelty are inexcusable.
