Monday, November 1 is World Vegan Day and also the beginning of World Vegan Month. The Vegan Society website has a listing of events around the world.

Want some free vegan recipes? You can download a pdf of the free Vegan Pack with recipes like savoury crepes and and strawberry kiwi cheezecake, and if you live in the UK, they can send you a free Vegan Pack in the mail. You can also download a free pdf of "Vegan Catering for All," which explains about vegan ingredients and also includes recipes like cream of mushroom soup and shepherd's pie, from the WVD website.

If you're a vegan activist in the US, the Boston Vegan Association is distributing free copies of their Vegan Advocacy Pamphlet, that explains how animals raised for food suffer and die. You can read it online here, and apply to receive free copies of it here.

Don't know what veganism is, or the reasons behind it? Learn about veganism here, and learn about the problems with eating fish, eggs, milk, and "humane" meat.

Don’t be bashing farmers by calling it “humane meat”. I live on an organic sheep and goat farm and all of my meat is humane, I live next door to a large hog, cattle, and crop farm and all of their meat is humane! I have no problem with vegans BUT don’t bash farmers, if they quit farming everyone would starve even vegans. Maybe you should think about that before bashing them!
