Experience

Doris Lin is a former writer for ThoughtCo who wrote about animal rights for more than six years. Lin worked for a variety of animal protection groups. Her career involvement with the movement started in the 1990s. Since 2012, she acts as the director of legal affairs for the Animal Protection League of New Jersey, formerly the New Jersey Animal Rights Alliance (NJARA). In 2007, she represented NJARA and the Bear Education and Resource Group in a lawsuit against New Jersey, successfully invalidating the state's bear hunting plan.

Lin is a former chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association's Animal Law Committee and worked with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Education

Doris Lin received a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Southern California in 1996. She also holds a Bachelor Science (B.S.) in Applied Biological Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
