Nathan Runkle, founder of Mercy for Animals, was inducted into the U.S. Animal Rights Hall of Fame at the 2009 Animal Rights National Conference.
Mercy for Animals focuses on farmed animal issues, and has become known for conducting undercover investigations to expose cruel factory farming conditions. The Ohio-based organization opened a New York office earlier this summer.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Nathan last year at the Taking Action for Animals conference, and he spoke about how the group got started, their undercover investigation at an egg factory farm, and his own family's farm. You can read the interview here.
Congratulations, Nathan!
