NYC Veggie Pride Parade Will be Sunday, May 17

The second annual Veggie Pride Parade will be on Sunday, May 17, 2009 in New York City, and is once again being organized by the Viva Vegie Society. The parade will culminate with a rally in Washington Union Square Park, including a musical performance by vegan "rawker" Cheryl Hill. Scheduled speakers include Paul Shapiro of The Humane Society of the US and Karen Davis of United Poultry Concerns.

I attended the parade last year, and had a blast, despite the rain and the police shutting down the concert because of the sound levels. I'm planning to attend again this year, so if you see me, please say hi!

5/16/09 Update: I realized I had the wrong park for the end point of the parade. It's Union Square Park, not Washington Square Park! I apologize for any confusion.
