Just yesterday, the Captive Primate Safety Act, H.R. 80 passed the U.S. House of Representatives, and now needs support in the Senate. H.R. 80 was passed in the House just eight days after a tragic chimpanzee attack in Connecticut. The bill would prohibit the interstate and international sale of primates as pets.
Now is the time to call, fax or email your senators, and ask them to support the Captive Primate Safety Act. Don't know who your senators are? Go here and click on your state in the upper right corner where it says, "Find Your Senators." Not sure what to say? Kinship Circle has a sample letter that you can customize. Scroll down about halfway to read the sample letter.
