Heather Mills has donated $1 million worth of vegan burgers, hot dogs and cutlets to the Hunts Point Alliance for Children. The food will be distributed to the children throughout the school year. The Hunts Point neighborhood in The Bronx, NY, is the poorest Congressional district in the U.S. In a prepared statement, Mills, who is vegan herself, said, "These children may have many economic disadvantages but I want to help make sure they have as many nutritional advantages as anyone else." Mills has also been named Honorary Chairperson of Hunts Point Alliance for Children, and was presented a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition by Congressman Jose Serrano (D,NY).

Efforts to help the hungry sometimes forget to consider animals and the environment. With this donation of vegan food, Mills is providing much-needed food that is animal-friendly and eco-friendly.

This donation comes shortly after her donation of $50,000 to Farm Animal Rights Movement and Sea Shepherd Conservation Society at the Animal Rights National Conference in August of 2008.
